UFC Fighters Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier Join Cast of Road House 2 Following Conor McGregor’s Lead
Hollywood is once again tapping into the world of mixed martial arts for its latest action blockbuster. Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier have officially joined the cast of Road House 2, the follow-up to last year’s hit remake that featured Conor McGregor in his acting debut. The sequel aims to expand on the gritty, high-octane energy that made the 2024 version a streaming sensation.
The first Road House reboot starred Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, a former UFC fighter turned bar bouncer in Florida, who found himself battling ruthless criminals threatening his new home. Conor McGregor’s portrayal of Knox—the menacing enforcer hired to eliminate Dalton—was widely praised for its raw intensity and charisma, marking a memorable transition from octagon to silver screen. Now, two more UFC stars are stepping into the spotlight.
Production insiders confirmed that six professional fighters will appear in the sequel, including Chandler, Poirier, Michael “Venom” Page, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, Tyron Woodley, and world kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven. This powerhouse lineup is expected to bring authentic fight choreography and real-world combat experience to the set, raising the sequel’s realism and energy levels.
Filming for Road House 2 is scheduled to span multiple international locations, including Malta, the United Kingdom, and Savannah, Georgia. The sequel will reportedly feature a larger scope and more elaborate fight sequences than its predecessor, with a storyline centered on a new generation of fighters navigating fame, loyalty, and survival both inside and outside the cage.
Interestingly, Conor McGregor is not expected to reprise his role in the sequel. The Irish superstar is currently focused on his long-anticipated return to the UFC, rumored for June 2026 at a special White House event card. His absence, however, paves the way for other fighters to bring their personalities and rivalries to the big screen—especially Chandler, who has long been linked to McGregor as a potential comeback opponent.
Both Chandler and Poirier have reputations built on thrilling, high-risk performances inside the octagon, and their addition to Road House 2 offers fans a glimpse of that same intensity in cinematic form. Whether the sequel will mirror their real-life rivalry or craft an entirely new storyline remains under wraps, but one thing is certain: the film’s blend of authentic combat and Hollywood production could make it one of the most explosive MMA-inspired movies yet.
The intersection of combat sports and Hollywood continues to grow, and Road House 2 looks to push that crossover even further—bringing legitimate fighters into roles that showcase both their athleticism and charisma. For fans of MMA and adrenaline-fueled cinema, this sequel promises to deliver another knockout performance.
