PFL Africa's 2026 season will finish with three championship fights in Kigali, Rwanda, on December 12. The promotion announced the complete finals lineup Friday, putting six fighters from five African nations on the card at BK Arena.

Angola's Shido Boris Esperanca meets unbeaten Nigerian David Samuel in the welterweight main event. Nigeria's Patrick Ocheme faces Senegal's Demba Seck for the lightweight title, while Liberia's Dwight Joseph takes on Nigeria's Raphael Uchegbu at bantamweight.

Esperanca and Samuel get the main event

The welterweight final has the clearest contrast on the card. Esperanca (13-2) punched his ticket with a first-round finish in the semifinal. Samuel (7-0) needed the scorecards, but kept his professional record clean.

That leaves Samuel defending more than an unbeaten mark. He now has to deal with a fighter who arrives in Kigali carrying proven finishing momentum. Esperanca, meanwhile, gets an opponent who has yet to show anyone the route to beating him.

"My Nigerian roots opened the door for me to compete in PFL Africa, and reaching the final is a special source of pride for me," Samuel said in the PFL announcement. "But my story is far from over."

Ocheme brings two straight first-round knockouts

Ocheme (10-1) has made his tournament run difficult to ignore. PFL says "Star Boi" reached the lightweight final after two first-round knockouts, with a body kick ending his semifinal. Seck (11-3) has more professional bouts and believes his broader game will make the difference.

"I respect his skills, but I truly believe I'm the most complete, technical, strongest, and the most experienced fighter in this division," Seck said.

The bantamweight final gives Joseph (17-3) another shot at the prize after he fell short in the previous tournament. He advanced this time by split decision. Across from him will be former FCC champion Uchegbu (11-2), who said winning would take his career to another level and bring another belt home to Nigeria.

Joseph's experience jumps off the bout sheet, but Uchegbu is hardly being rushed into this spot. Their combined 33 professional fights make this the most seasoned pairing among the three finals.

Kigali hosts the finish

The December card brings PFL Africa back to Kigali after the city hosted the promotion's semifinals in October 2025. Local outlet The New Times first reported the finals date earlier this month; Friday's PFL release supplied the full three-fight championship lineup and broadcast details.

PFL says SuperSport will carry the event in English across Africa, with Canal+ providing French-language coverage and SportyTV offering free-to-air access. The promotion has not announced additional bouts for the card.

There is no imported star propping up the main event here. The hook is the tournament itself: six finalists, three belts, and a field that reaches from Angola and Liberia to Nigeria and Senegal. Kigali gets to see the season settled in one night.
